Originally from Berkeley, CA, Anna Moore moved to New York City to study acting at NYU when she was 17 years old, and has since enjoyed living and studying in some of the most beautiful and culturally vibrant cities in the world, including London, Amsterdam, and now Los Angeles. Aside from her acting work, Anna spends her time learning how to surf on her 7'6" board, practicing bikram-style yoga in downtown Santa Monica, and creating live theatre with her friends.
Anna made her feature film debut acting opposite Uma Thurman in “The Life Before Her Eyes” (Director Vadim Perelman’s second feature), for which she attended the New York City premiere in 2008. Anna appears opposite Ellen Barkin in Director Cam Archer’s feature film “Shit Year” (Wild Child Films, 2010).
Anna has acted as the lead in two feature films: Slew Pictures' "Fighting Fish" (Writer/Director Annette Apitz; a film for which Anna recently received an award for "Best Actress" at the 2011 NY Vision Film Festival), and Film Cartel Entertainment's "The Shattering" (Director Jason Boritz; due for release in 2012). She has also enjoyed acting in several short films, most recently including Enzo Film's "Honk If You Miss Randy Todd" (Writer/Director Josh Smith) and Dolores Pictures' "Forever Young" (Writer/Director Natalia Leite) - both of which are currently on the festival circuit. In 2008, Anna starred in the short film “Sam and Ben” (AZN TV), for which she was nominated as “Best Actress” at the 2008 International Asian American Film Festival in New York City.
Anna has appeared on LOVE BITES (NBC, 2011 Network Television Premier), GENERAL HOSPITAL, CRIMINAL MINDS, LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT, and starred in LOGO TV’s short film “Not Gay” (Director Tony Wei). She was recently selected as the face of the MTV ad campaign for “Love Coach”, and as a host of the third season of Director Jon Nash’s VENICE BASKETBALL LEAGUE.
Anna recently graduated from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, where she studied at The Atlantic Theater Company Acting School, The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (Study Abroad program in London, UK), The Experimental Theatre Wing, as well as The International Theatre Workshop (Study Abroad program in Amsterdam, NL under the direction of Tisch Chair of Drama, Kevin Khulke). During her time at NYU, Anna starred in productions of “Poe in April” (NYU Mainstaige, New York, NY), “The Merchant of Venice” (RADA, London, UK), and “The Rimers of Eldrich” (Atlantic Theatre Company, New York, NY).
Anna is extremely passionate about promoting truly sustainable practices on a personal and global level. Yes, not surprisingly, she is a huge advocate of choosing to bike instead of drive, shopping for food at farmers' markets and co-ops, finding outfits at thrift stores as opposed to retail, and creating art, gifts, and treasures out of found objects.
